The event began with a panel discussion where several local female entrepreneurs and I discussed the meaning and importance of wellness and how we try to fit it into our busy lives and careers. Following the panel, I performed in an all-female string trio to accompany a yoga class with a program that we carefully chose to match the flow of the class. Each event drew attention to the struggle to increase the rights of a different group of people: women, refugees, and immigrants. As a musical feature to the dinner, I selected and performed chamber music to match that year’s theme.
